Washington D.C. - Day 3

Day 3 - we decided to go to the National Zoo!
There is a hilarious story about this picture. We walked from the Metro to the zoo, which was a good little way, and Sam pushed the stroller - uphill! He kept telling me he was having a hard time pushing it. However, when I volunteered to take my turn, Sam said he would make it and he was determined to push the stroller. Then, when we got IN the zoo, I took my turn and instantly realized the front brake was on! Sam pushed that stroller uphill, with 2 children and all our cargo - with the brake on! :) You can tell he doesn't take the stroller out very much! We all got a kick out of that one!

Reid on Uncle Dade's shoulders - one tired little boy!

Landry was in the stroller at first...

...until his Daddy got him out so he could see the elephants, too!

Reid hung out with Uncle Dade a good bit at the zoo.

He hung out with me, too.

Uncle Dade's shoulders was Reid's favorite place to be!

Dade, Reid, and me

My sweet little family - taking a break with snowcones and cotton candy!

Dade enjoyed the cotton candy, too!

Dade and Joy - they have gotten good at self-portraits! I volunteered to take the picture, but they turned me down.

At the end of this day, Dade and Joy were so gracious to keep the boys overnight while Sam and I spent the night in D.C. Sam and I enjoyed the time together, and we got to do some fun things. Joy took this picture of Dade and Landry after they got home. They look pretty comfortable, don't they?

Reid - asleep in Uncle Dade and Aunt Joy's bed. It warmed my heart to know that they were doing well! I don't think either of them had a hard time falling asleep that night!
